Sophia Baron – Sophomore Saturday
Meet Sophia Baron…
Q: What’s your favorite elective?
A: My favorite elective is marketing because I’m learning skills I can use in real life situations while also having fun.
Q: Who’s your favorite teacher?
A: My favorite teacher is Mr. Goldberg because he does a good job of explaining the material we are learning and you can tell he is a kind person who cares about his job and students.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to a freshman?
A: A piece of advice I would give to freshmen would be to not let one bad grade affect how you view yourself because it truly doesn’t matter in the long run.
Q: Do you have any useful study techniques?
A: A study technique I use is speaking the course material out loud. For example, in AP Government, I write out the study questions and answer them multiple times, then later I have someone ask them to me, and I speak the answer out loud. When I hear myself say it, it helps me remember it better.
Q: Do you have any possible career path options in mind?
A: I would like to go into something relating to science, possibly biology or nursing.
Q: If you could start any school club, what would it be?
A: I think it would be cool If Berkley added an NHS type club for lowerclassmen to have community service opportunities where we seek out volunteer work.
Q: What is your favorite subject?
A: My favorite subject is science because I really enjoy learning about our ecosystem. I hope to have a future in it someday.
