Bears of Berkley- Ava Hieler
Q: What is your favorite school club, activity, or elective?
A: Ap Art! It’s much more relaxed at Berkley than it is at CASA so it’s the perfect senior class. You can just sit back and draw.
Q: What is one perk of being an upperclassman?
A: Definitely the relaxed atmosphere from students and teachers alike. Once applying to colleges is over, it’s smooth sailing. No one really expects all that much from you, so you can sit back and relax.
Q: What career path are you interested in pursuing in the future?
A: A storyboard artist.
Q:Do you have any words of advice for underclassmen?
A: Know your limits, but don’t be afraid to take risks! High School is fun when you’re not wallowing in work and anxiety. Also dress however you want.
Q: Do you have any embarrassing or funny freshman year stories?
A: I was in intro to digital art and would blast music in both earbuds while I was working. I completely missed the gas leak announcement and didn’t have a clue that we were supposed to evacuate until I noticed the classroom was almost entirely empty… (oops)
Q: Who is your favorite teacher?
A: There are too many to name, but Mrs Blackwell, Mr Doty, and Mr Duffy are probably my top three.
Q: What is most exciting or nerve wracking about college approaching?
A: I have to move to Savannah, Georgia for college, and while I’ve moved several times before, but now I’m going to be super far from my family. Also Savannah which is significantly hotter than Michigan, and with heat comes bugs… but all that aside I’m really excited.
