Coach Steve Wloszec talks about some of the team’s biggest strengths and also fills us in on their areas of improvement. He states, “We have a talented group of kids who know the game, have a relentless work ethic, and want to improve every day, so they can make it to the next level. Overall, we are an extremely young team this fall. We start five sophomores, and most teams we play don’t even have five sophomores on their 25-man roster, so we are learning to get better daily against older, taller, stronger, and faster teams than us.”
Next, we hear from Captain Ben Sanborn. He states, “We’re excited and looking forward to a great season,” Sanborn continues to share his thoughts on the upcoming season. He talks about the team getting ready for some important upcoming games and is looking forward to Districts, seeing it as their biggest challenge to face. While they had an upsetting loss to their biggest rivals, Troy Athens, they are ready for their upcoming games.
Overall, boys’ soccer is having an impactful start to their season; they’re playing strong with Coach Wloszec and four enthusiastic captains, making this a promising season for the Bears. The team is ready for an impressive season to come.

Coach Dakota Stanichuck talks about the new team and where she thinks the season’s heading. “We lost nine seniors last year, so that is definitely tough, but there are so many great new players on the team. I think it’s headed in a great direction. If we continue to build on the progress we’ve made in practice, I believe we can compete at a very high level in our league and beyond.” The team is looking strong and is excited for their upcoming games.
We also hear from Captain Laila Miller as she talks about the team coming together and how they’ve been playing together in practices and in their matches. “We’ve got pretty high energy. We’re still getting used to playing with each other, but everyone’s pretty friendly and we’re getting along.” She also gives a shout-out to her co-captain, Juliet Egnotovich, “She’s a great member of the team, she’s a great outside hitter, and is a great asset to the team.” They’ve only had a few games so far, but the team is looking good and is excited for the season to continue.
