Every fall, we count on Apple to release a new iPhone. Their routine releases of technology keeps buyers on their toes, waiting to see new features and software updates that improve users’ day-to-day life. This September, Apple released the iPhone 15. On the outside, there are many differences of the newest iPhone noticeable to the eye. Titanium exteriors, enhanced quality on images, USB-C charger, and the “Dynamic Island”- an interactive home base for all iPhone 15 models. And on the inside, even more differences are introduced.
A striking feature of the iPhone 15 is that it has up to 20-29 hours of playback time with charge starting at 100%. On average, teenagers in 2023 spend eight hours a day on their devices. Something crucial to Apple developers was to create a phone with incredible charging capabilities. Another change to chargers is the switch to the universal USB-C. One charger for all of your Apple devices.
One of my favorite features is the up to 5x zoom camera qualities. The advanced camera systems create high resolution images with “depth control and next generation qualities” (Apple). Taking high quality images are so important to many so having a reliable camera is a major upgrade from many iPhone cameras. Also, the low light camera features have been updated, which makes dark setting photos brighter and appears as if taken in daylight.
Something that I noticed is that the iPhone 15 has a sleek exterior with a titanium base instead of the regular stainless steel frame. This quality helps with proper heat dissipation, problems like shut down, drained battery and even permanent damage. Due to titaniums low thermal conductivity, having a titanium base equally distributes heat in the phone and cool technology. Another thing to note about the titanium base is that it is scratch resistant. Most tumbles you take with the iPhone aren’t as detrimental as dropping other models. Speaking of dropping, what about dropping in water? All iPhone 15 models are IP68 rated which means that they are water resistant for thirty minutes and depths up to five feet.
This year’s new Apple iPhone has shown to have striking features. Anything from the dynamic island, enhanced camera, and new charging systems the iPhone 15 has been a game changer for many.
