The iconic music festival Coachella takes place in the first two weekends of April in Indio, California. Many people from around the world gather to see their favorite artists. The festival is filled with fashion, celebrities, food, and most importantly, music. The lineup of performers has just been announced; read on to read my hot takes, opinions, predictions, and more in this article.
The three-day weekend has a different person headlining each day. To begin the festivities, on Friday night, the well-known pop singer, Sabrina Carpenter, is performing. In the past, people might have seen her acting in Disney shows and movies. Sabrina performed at Coachella 2024, not as a headliner but still on the Main Stage. Her performance of her recent album “Short’ n Sweet” was great. Seeing what she did then with her colorful costumes and fun personality, I can’t wait to see what she is going to do next after releasing Man’s Best Friend this August, compared to her past albums that give off more of a bubbly vibe, her most recent album gives off a more confident vibe, so, instead of pink heart corsets we have seen her wear during her “Short’ n Sweet” tour, we might see darker colors and lace this time around, but still including the iconic bedazzled parts of her outfits. For her performance, it will be very entertaining, and she might even bring out a special guest to add to the excitement from her dancing and singing. The same night, there will be many others performing throughout the festival. This includes Central Cee, British Rapper, Blood Orange (known as singer Dev Hynes), and Disclosure, an electronic dance music duo. A lot of these artists have been producing music for many years, but social media has expanded their audience to younger fans, increasing the popularity of their music, including their songs turning into TikTok dances and trending sounds.
On the first weekend on, Saturday is when many people are anticipating a long-awaited headlining from singer Justin Bieber. Bieber has not been on tour since his Justice World Tour in September of 2022, which was unfortunately cut short due to his health issues. When Justin Bieber headlines at Coachella, it will mark his first major performance in four years, eagerly anticipated by fans worldwide. Since his tour, he has made minor guest appearances at other artists’ concerts, including SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour in Los Angeles. He has had only one recent album, “Swag”, which came out in July of 2025. He worked directly with the festival promoter to negotiate the terms of his slot.
It will be very exciting to see what he has to offer, considering he secured a seven-figure Coachella deal by himself, making him the highest-paid performer at Coachella in history. Knowing how creative Bieber is, I can’t wait to see his ideas being represented on stage. The same day, we will see influencer and singer Adison Rae, American Rapper Swae Lee, and many more share their talents.
To wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Karol G, a Colombian urban pop singer/songwriter, makes her return at Coachella, but this time as a headliner. She performed in 2022 on the main stage, but this year she will make history as the first Latina headliner. Seeing her bring lots of vibrant colors, vibes, and intricate dancing in the past, I am eager to see what she has to offer this time. Also, a South Korean boy band BIGBANG will make their Coachella debut in honor of the band’s 20th anniversary. Gigi Perez, an American singer and songwriter, will also make an appearance on Sunday, alongside all the other talented musicians performing.
Overall, the options at Coachella are endless. People get to see so many different musicians from all over the world, surrounded by the desert. It will be interesting to see how the festival progresses in a few months. The tickets are already sold out for the first weekend! More influencers and celebrities attend with an open mind on the first weekend. I can’t wait to hear all about it in April.
